Confessiamo che la notte dormiamo comunque sonni tranquilli, non fremiamo dalla voglia di leggere le classifiche sui migliori vini internazionali che arrivano da oltreconfine, però l’export è in una fase non proprio brillantissima e sappiamo bene quanto determinati giudizi di riviste specializzate diventino importanti per le cantine di tutto il mondo.

È quindi una presa di informazione sulla tendenza, sulla indiscutibile qualità, ma anche sull’appeal che certe regioni vitivinicole (e i brand che le rappresentano) provocano sugli esperti, soprattutto su quelli a stelle e strisce.

In attesa della sua super “100 Top-rated (wines that stand out)”, Wine Enthusiast ha pubblicato la Top 100 Cellar Selections per il 2025. La lista dei migliori vini in grado di evolvere con il tempo, meritando l’ambita designazione “Cellar Selection” per la loro struttura, equilibrio e longevità.

Per chi non lo sapesse, Wine Enthusiast è una delle più note riviste dedicate al vino a livello mondiale. Fondata negli Stati Uniti, è seguitissima per le sue degustazioni, recensioni e classifiche che guidano sia i consumatori che i professionisti del settore. I suoi punteggi e le sue selezioni hanno un impatto significativo sul mercato internazionale, fungendo da bussola per i consumatori e i collezionisti che cercano la “bevuta” di pregio.

La Top 100 Cellar Selections fa una graduatoria di quei vini di eccellenza e dall’alto potenziale evolutivo. Per WE un “cellar selection” non deve necessariamente essere conservato, ma con l’invecchiamento potrebbe ulteriormente migliorare negli aspetti organolettici. Una selezione che include sia i grandi classici, sia le bottiglie meno note e i produttori emergenti, offrendo opportunità anche per chi decide di scommettere su etichette che possono diventare iconiche in futuro.

Per garantire la massima obiettività e coerenza nella valutazione, i critici di WE hanno degustato i vini alla cieca e in “batterie” di 5-8 campioni omogenei. Rimane anonimo anche il nome del produttore e il prezzo al dettaglio.

Sorpresa! Al primo posto nella Top100 c’è l’Italia. Il Trentodoc Riserva Lunelli 2015 extra brut di Ferrari è il Best Cellar Selection per Wine Enthusiast (98 pts). Tanta roba…

Un grandissimo riconoscimento è anche il 4° posto per il Barolo Berri 2021 di Trediberri. Nella TopTen anche il Franciacorta rosé riserva Bagnadore 2011 di Barone Pizzini e, appena sotto, il Toscana IGT Saffredi 2021 di Fattoria Le Pupille.
